Drum Lessons
About Me and My Lessons
Hi, I’m Corrie and I have been teaching drums for around 15 years. As a musician I have won awards for my drumming and album output, have performed with a diversity of artists worldwide and I hold a degree from Trinity Laban in jazz drumming. Some of my first students are now touring internationally while others pursue further education at prestigious music conservatories. However, what makes me happiest is when my students develop an enriched relationship with music, whatever that means to them.
My teaching approach places the musical interests and drumming goals of each individual at the centre. Drawing from my experience as a professional musician and dedicated student of the drums, I am equipped to help students achieve a wide range of objectives. Whether it's playing at a local jam, writing drum parts to accentuate a song, reading drum scores or learning specific styles or songs; I take pride in supporting diverse areas of study. One of my favourite goals was helping a beginner play drums at her wedding (she nailed it).
